Dr. Rodriguez graduated from Stanford University in 2006 with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology. He then pursued his MD/PhD at UCSF, working in the laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Weissman. For this thesis, Edwin developed an experimental and computational pipeline for the data-driven annotation of the protein-coding sequences of mammalian genomes. This work resulted in four publications. He has also won accolades for his outstanding clinical work and has taught several courses.
