Dr. Hildebrand is a postdoctoral fellow under Dr. Winrich Freiwald in the Laboratory of Neural Systems at Rockefeller University. His current work examines how the perception of socially salient stimuli is supported by the activity of cortical neuron populations. One goal of this project is to determine how faces are represented by neurons in visual and temporal cortices. To study this question, Dr. Hildebrand performs calcium imaging experiments in awake marmoset monkeys. Dr. Hildebrand received a B.S. in mathematical biochemistry from Northeastern University and a Ph.D. in neurobiology from Harvard Medical School under the mentorship of Drs. Florian Engert and Jeff Lichtman.
