Elizabeth Moynihan Curator for South and Southeast Asian Art

Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art
Washington, D.C.

In 2021, the Foundation endowed the Elizabeth Moynihan Curator for South and Southeast Asian Art at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art. This permanent curatorial position honors the Foundation’s late Trustee, Elizabeth Moynihan, for her extensive work as an architectural historian in South Asia and her deep knowledge of India, the Mughal Dynasty, and its exquisite gardens. The Elizabeth Moynihan Research Fund for South Asian Art, which provides essential funding for curatorial research, was also established as part of the endowment.
