National Campus for the Archaeology of Israel

Jerusalem, Israel

The newly constructed Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein National Campus for the Archaeology of Israel serves as the headquarters for the Israel Antiquities Authority’s (IAA) archaeological activities including scientific research, object preservation and digital collections management. The IAA serves as the primary custodian of the cultural heritage of the Land of Israel, managing over 30,000 archaeological excavations in Israel, as well as the protection, conservation and exhibition of artifacts in Israel and abroad.

Public exhibition space is currently under development at the National Campus, as part of the upcoming Visitor Experience. The Leon Levy and Shelby White National Center for the National Treasures, expected to open to the public in 2026, will showcase Israel’s greatest archaeological treasures, including the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Center for National Treasures aims to share the wealth and depth of Israel’s archaeological legacy through rare objects, interactive displays, and immersive experiences.
