Center for Jewish History

New York, NY

The Foundation has funded a range of projects to enhance scholarship, collections and exhibitions at the Center for Jewish History, the largest and most comprehensive archive of the modern Jewish experience outside of Israel. Beginning in 2007, a series of grants supported the cataloging of a large volume of manuscripts, letters, photographs and other archival materials that document the lives of Jews, culminating in the creation of an institutional archive and the Shelby White & Leon Levy Archival Processing Laboratory. In 2023, the Foundation endowed the Leon Levy Fellowship, an annual fellowship dedicated to the study of antisemitism, using the collections at the Center and its five partner organizations: American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. In 2025, the Foundation is a presenting sponsor of Anne Frank The Exhibition, the landmark exhibition presented at the Center.
